MacDill AFB AirFest May 12th - 13th, 2018 Featuring the US Navy Blue Angels. Welcome back Tampa Bay! AirFest 2018 at MacDill AFB MacDill Air Force Base once again opens its gates to the public this weekend for AirFest - with free tours, many types of aircraft and military demonstration teams. The MacDill Youth Center has something for everyone! September is full of fun, creative things for youth to do, such as: Drone Club, Puerto Rican Cooking, Ice Cream in a Bag, 4-H Cooking Field Trip to El Cafetal and much, more!
The event begins on Friday evening, when night time flying returns to the town, and finishes on Sunday evening after a further two days packed with entertainment and activities.
Sefton Council will be carrying out road closures before and during the event, with motorists urged to allow extra time for any journeys in the surrounding area of the Air Show.

- Marine Drive (between the Pleasureland roundabout and Marine Parade roundabout) – 12 noon Thursday 5th July to midnight Monday 9th July
Friday
- Coastal Road (from the Weld Road roundabout to Pleasureland roundabout) – 5pm to approximately 10pm/site clearance
- Marine Drive - (from the Fairways roundabout to Marine Parade roundabout) – 5pm to approximately 10pm/site clearance

Parking advice
The Park & Ride service will not be in operation on Saturday and Sunday, though beach Parking is available on both of those days. On Friday the Little Esplanade Car Park will be open for Air Show traffic.
Advice to motorists - diversions
AA signs have been erected to guide motorists to the show, while the council has issued the following advice on parking:
“If you are travelling in from the North you will be directed to Princes Park on Friday and the Beach/Marine Drive on Saturday and Sunday.
“If you are travelling from the East you will be directed to the Esplanade on Friday and Princes Park on Saturday and Sunday
“If you are travelling from the South you will be directed to the Esplanade on all three days.
“We would like to remind visitors that caravans, motorhomes and any high sided vehicle are not allowed on the beach.”
